【Signature Event】‘Discover, for every child 2024 – Play for a livable planet’ Uniting for Climate Action

With the generous support of China Resources Charitable Fund Limited (CRCF), and in partnership with Noah's Ark Hong Kong and Rainbow Foundation, Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF HK) held the ‘Discover, for every child 2024 – Play for a livable planet’ campaign at Noah’s Ark Hong Kong in Ma Wan. Close to 1,000 children and parents participated in the event, with the goals of encouraging Hong Kong children to actively participate in global climate action, and fostering empathy and raising awareness for children in need around the world.

At the ceremony, Ms. Judy Chen, Chairman of UNICEF HK, emphasized in her speech that climate change is no longer just a ‘problem’ but a ‘crisis’, and is a major threat to the rights and well-being of children worldwide. To address this global crisis and save our future generations, people from all over the world must unite together and take immediate action. Afterwards, she led a group of guests to various mission areas to cheer on the participants.

Featuring six key themes, the event included a total of 20 games throughout the park. At the Ark Life Education House (ALEH), participants could write a letter to their future selves with a pledge to active participation in climate action and help save the planet. At the e-Planet, they could unleash creativity by drawing rescue supplies inside the vehicle. Their artwork came to life on a giant digital screen, giving them a firsthand experience of how the supplies could be delivered to those in need worldwide. Moreover, the missions included visiting Noah's Organic Farm and creating DIY water filters. Through completing an array of activities, participants received certificates, medals and gifts, becoming climate action pioneers.
