【Signature Camp】"Science Exploration Camp – Moon Adventure" Embarking on a STEAM Innovation Journey

2025/8/21-23

This summer, we continued our partnership with the School of Science and Technology, Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU), to co-organize a three-day "Science Exploration Camp – Moon Adventure" camp for 40 upper primary and junior secondary students. The students participated in a range of scientific experiences, igniting their interest in STEAM, cultivating innovative thinking and self-confidence, and nurturing them to become future pillars of society equipped with scientific literacy and forward-looking vision.

During the camp, students visited laboratories at HKMU and Ma Wan Solar Tower, built telescopes, rocket launchers, and parachutes, and learned to operate moon exploration rovers using micro:bit. This year, "Sustainability Youth Ambassadors" from Hong Kong Baptist University were also invited to serve as team leaders to help students overcome challenges and complete the lunar exploration tasks. On the final day, students competed in "Space Adventure Competition" with their rovers, fully demonstrating their knowledge and teamwork skills.

Distinguished guests attended the camp’s graduation ceremony to show their support, including Dr. Jeff Sze Chun Fai JP, Under Secretary for Education; Mr. Pang Jiezhao, Level II Division Rank Official of Publicity and Education Division of the New Territories Sub-office of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government (LOCPG) in the HKSAR; and representatives from the Federation of Hong Kong-Shanghai Associations. They presented the students with graduation certificates and generous prizes. In Dr. Sze’s speech, he emphasized the importance of innovation, science, and artificial intelligence in education today, encouraging students to lay a strong foundation in mathematics and science, and to develop logical thinking skills.
